Introduction:
Process servers play a crucial role in ensuring legal proceedings run smoothly by delivering important documents to the intended recipients. In Alberta, using a professional process server helps guarantee that the service of documents follows legal protocols, ensuring no delays or complications in your case. Below is an overview of the different types of legal documents a process server can deliver across Alberta, including Calgary and Edmonton.
Lets dive into the different types of documents a process server can deliver:
Family law matters can be sensitive, requiring timely and accurate delivery. Process servers often handle these documents discreetly to avoid unnecessary conflict.
Divorce Papers: Filing for divorce begins with serving the divorce petition to the other spouse.
Custody and Support Orders: These documents outline child custody or financial support obligations.
Separation Agreements: If separation terms are not mutually agreed upon, legal notice must be served.
Restraining Orders: Ensuring the recipient receives these orders is critical for enforcing protections.
In civil litigation, process servers ensure parties are informed about the claims and the actions they need to take.
Statements of Claim: Initiates a lawsuit by notifying the defendant of the claim against them.
Notices of Motion: Used to inform parties of upcoming motions or requests for court orders.
Summons to Witness: Requires someone to appear in court or provide testimony.
Small Claims Notices: Process servers often handle notices for cases involving claims under $100,000 in Alberta.
Businesses and financial institutions rely on process servers to deliver legally binding documents.
Demand Letters: A formal request for payment or action to resolve a dispute.
Foreclosure Notices: Informs individuals or companies about the initiation of foreclosure proceedings.
Bankruptcy Papers: Alerts creditors and debtors of bankruptcy filings.
Eviction Notices: Process servers ensure tenants receive proper notice before eviction proceedings.
Even in criminal or governmental cases, process servers play a role in document delivery.
Subpoenas: Orders someone to appear in court or produce documents.
Writs of Execution: Informs a party of the court’s authorization to enforce a judgment, such as wage garnishment.
Administrative Notices: Includes delivery of government or regulatory notices affecting individuals or businesses.
Some documents require personal delivery to be legally binding, and process servers can ensure these are served correctly.
Notice of Default: Informs borrowers they have defaulted on loan payments.
Partnership Dissolution Notices: Notifies partners of the formal dissolution of a business partnership.
Mediation and Arbitration Notices: Alerts parties of scheduled dispute resolution sessions.
Notice to Vacate: A formal order to leave a property within a specific time frame.
Delivering legal documents involves more than just handing over papers. Process servers in Alberta, like those in Calgary and Edmonton, ensure:
Compliance with Alberta law: Proper service prevents delays or dismissals.
Proof of service: Detailed affidavits confirming that documents were delivered correctly.
Real-time updates: Some process servers provide instant status updates, helping clients stay informed.
Using a professional process server ensures the proper delivery of legal documents, avoiding delays that could jeopardize your case. Whether dealing with family matters, civil disputes, or business issues, having the right process server by your side ensures peace of mind.

Emergency Service
No! We know many other process servers may charge for weekend service, however, the way we think about it is that most people are home on the weekend and is one of the best time to ensure a smooth and accurate service. We will never charge more for doing our job of getting your legal document served!
We typically aim for the first attempt to be completed within 36 hours of the files submission for service. If you have a rush, we will get to it right away. All of our files received will undergo 4 attempts, with most files being served a lot sooner.
With our advanced systems in place, you will be up-to-date in real time with where your file is in our pipeline. You will get notified of every attempt in real time, and when the document(s) get served in real time. We then create the Affidavit Of Service, and file it at the respective court house.
Calgary, Edmonton, and surrounding areas. We can deliver anywhere in Alberta but the number of attempts and price will change depending on the location of the serve. Everything within city limits is a flat fee, 4 attempt service.
